Mali’s National Transition Council (CNT) on Thursday, 22 October, ratified the 13 August ordinance amending the Code of Persons and Family, with all 119 members present voting in favour, Xinhua and KOACI report. Revocation of nationality now applies to Malians by origin as well as naturalized citizens, on grounds that include formal allegiance to another state and terrorist acts or their financing. It cannot be ordered if it would leave the person stateless, Xinhua reports.
