Admiral Brad Cooper said the main transit routes through the Strait of Hormuz remained free of Iranian sea mines during his 25 October visit, CENTCOM reported. He flew over the strait in a US Army CH-47 Chinook. CENTCOM said its forces supported more than 3,000 commercial-vessel transits over six months and helped Gulf partners export more than 1.5 billion barrels of crude since summer. This mine-free assessment contradicts the IRGC Navy’s accounts of mine strikes during the week, including its 20, 22 and 23 October claims. The conflicting accounts are not independently resolved.

An official CENTCOM assessment, read in its original X article and also reported by The Times of Israel and The Jerusalem Post. The mine-clearance and traffic figures are attributed US claims, not independent confirmation. Earlier IRGC mine claims remain unverified; neither account settles the cause of an individual vessel incident.
