Early on Sunday, 4 October 2026, the Saudi-led coalition and government spokesman Colonel Majed Abdullah al-Nazili described 97 targeting operations against Houthi forces, using warplanes, drones, artillery, missiles and snipers. Al Jazeera placed the operations on the Tor al-Baha front and the Taiz axis. The National placed them on fronts in Taiz and Lahij. The spokesman claimed at least 260 fighters were hit and dozens of vehicles destroyed or disabled. Those figures were not independently confirmed. In separate remarks the same morning he said forces had also struck targets in Saada.

Why it matters

Government forces claimed a large mixed operation along the Taiz front as the fighting widened.

Verification: Probable

Evidence: Houthis claim strike on Aramco site as Yemen fighting intensifies, Yemeni armed forces hit Houthi strongholds as fighting rages

The 97 operations, the toll and the places are coalition and government claims. Al Jazeera names the Tor al-Baha front and the Taiz axis; The National names fronts in Taiz and Lahij. Saada appears in the spokesman's separate strike remarks, not as the site of these 97 operations. No independent damage assessment was published.
