Russian forces struck Dnipro on 3 September 2026, setting fire to warehouses of a logistics company that Nova Poshta later identified as its own depot and branch. The postal operator said one of its employees was killed and five more suffered shrapnel wounds of varying severity, and Ukrainian outlets citing the company said the weapon was a Russian “Banderol” rocket-drone (LB.ua; Delo.ua; UA.NEWS). Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported the strike at 11:27 a.m. Kyiv time, then one killed and five injured including a 20-year-old man in serious condition, and at 1:16 p.m. said the number of injured had risen to eight, four of them in hospital (Ukrinform; Ukrainska Pravda; UA.NEWS; OstroV citing his Telegram). Dnipropetrovsk Oblast police said the warehouses were in the city’s Industrial District and likewise reported one killed and eight injured.

Why it matters

A lethal daytime strike that destroyed a Nova Poshta depot and branch, separate from the overnight nationwide drone wave, shows Russia continuing to hit Ukraine’s civilian parcel and logistics network, with the operator activating a backup logistics plan to limit delivery disruption.
