Importance
Notable

WAFA reported a settler attack on olive pickers in eastern Abu Falah on 16 October, with olive trees set on fire and Israeli forces firing live ammunition and tear gas. It cited the Palestine Red Crescent Society on a 63-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man hospitalized after beatings; a later WAFA report described a man shot in the thigh and a foreign journalist injured in a beating. A separate X account says American Washington Post journalist Heidi Levine was badly wounded and at least one Palestinian was shot during the attack. The post does not identify whether that Palestinian is among WAFA’s reported patients.

Why it matters

The reports describe violence against olive harvesters and journalists during the harvest, along with damage to olive trees.
