Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi, a senior adviser to the IRGC chief commander, said in a televised interview on 30 September that 'if the Americans act according to their own interests, they will stop their military attacks against us, unless they want to commit suicide'. He said the US had already shown the full extent of its capabilities over seven months of attacks from February to April and that they failed, and said Iran would fire as many missiles as needed to deter the enemy. The warning comes as Washington presents its own assessment that Iran's conventional military has been crippled, and as indirect talks over the Strait of Hormuz continue through Qatari mediators.
