WAFA, citing sources at Nasser Medical Complex, said a Palestinian was killed and several others were injured on the morning of Monday 12 October 2026 when an Israeli drone struck a group of civilians in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip. Quds News Network separately reported one killed and two injured in an Israeli drone strike in Mawasi Rafah, south-west of Khan Younis. The exact injured count differs between the two reports and is not combined here. Distinct from the 10 October Al-Mawasi shooting (evt_ced2e00a) and the 11 October Al-Buraq charging-point strike in west Khan Younis (evt_738dd92b). On 13 October the IDF said that in a strike in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday 12 October it killed Salah al-Din Iyad Abd al-Hamid and Izz al-Din Iyad Diab Barhoum, whom it called Nukhba operatives of Hamas's Rafah Brigade; it gave no location. Drop Site News reported that Barhoum, 22, and Salah al-Din Iyad Abdul Hamid Aql, 29, were killed in an Israeli strike on al-Mawasi, Rafah, on 12 October, which links the IDF claim to this strike. Drop Site's two named dead differ from the one fatality WAFA and QNN first reported; the discrepancy is not resolved and the fatality figure below is left at the earlier reports.
