Pakistan's army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran on 20 October 2026 accompanied by a delegation from his country, Iranian state broadcaster Press TV reported; Clash Report also reported his arrival with a delegation of Pakistani officials. The state news agency IRNA said Munir met President Masoud Pezeshkian and Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei in Tehran on 20 October. According to IRNA and Press TV, Rezaei told him that no quantity of Iran's enriched nuclear material, however small, would be allowed to leave the country and that there would be no negotiations with the United States until Washington built trust by meeting Iran's conditions; IRNA said Munir confirmed that the Iran-Pakistan border remains open. Clash Report said Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf spoke after meeting Munir, saying Iran had nothing new to say to Washington, which could not win its trust except by implementing Iran's seven conditions; IRNA carried the speaker's remarks without saying where they were made. A day earlier IRNA had cited an official source saying the visit would pursue bilateral relations and regional issues.
