The settlement of Korotych near Kharkiv came under a massive Russian drone attack overnight on 21 October 2026, killing an 81-year-old woman and an 83-year-old man, Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Telegram. Another 11 people, including a two-month-old boy and an eight-year-old girl, suffered acute stress reactions and received medical help. Later that morning the governor said another child had been hurt in the attack: a 13-year-old boy was injured by glass and was being treated in hospital. Thirteen private houses and a car were damaged and an outbuilding was destroyed by fire, the governor said. No Russian Defence Ministry statement on the incident was read.
