Al Jazeera reported that an Israeli air attack on a residential apartment in the al-Asala building in the Remal (Al-Rimal) neighbourhood of western Gaza City killed at least five people early on 3 October 2026 and severely wounded several others, according to medical staff at al-Shifa Hospital. No warning was given before the strike, and three blasts hit the building in the middle of the night while residents were asleep, tearing through the floors below. Al Jazeera's correspondent in Khan Younis later reported two explosions around 2am local time near the al-Haid roundabout and said the army had struck a building with two explosive drones, killing at least three women, a child and a young man. Quds News reported the same night of fighting in Al-Rimal with a toll rising to five dead including four women. A separate Clash Report post relaying Al Jazeera put the number of those severely wounded at six. Palestinian civil defence crews were still searching under the rubble for missing people. The IDF had no comment in the retained reporting.
