Russian tactical aviation directed five high-explosive guided aerial bombs at the Sumy territorial community in northeastern Ukraine at about 7:50 a.m. local time on 4 October 2026, hitting residential apartment buildings and parked civilian vehicles in the Zarichnyi district. Sumy regional and municipal authorities reported 13 people wounded, including a child, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Gas lines and a business facility were also damaged. A 52-year-old employee killed the same morning is a separate drone strike on a medical-supplies warehouse, not these bombs.

Evidence: Russian Glide Bombs Strike Sumy Apartments, Injuring 13, Russian attacks kill at least 5, injure 30 across Ukraine

The 13 wounded, including a child, are the guided-bomb toll in the Sumy authority account carried by Kyiv Post and The Kyiv Independent. An earlier filing put a 52-year-old death on this strike. The Kyiv Independent roundup of 4 October attributes that death to a drone on a medical-supplies warehouse. A combined “1 killed and 13 injured” counted both attacks.
