A Russian attack on the morning of 18 October 2026 hit an industrial enterprise in Volyn Oblast that makes frozen food products, setting warehouse and production premises on fire over a total area of more than 5,000 square metres, acting regional governor Roman Romaniuk said, according to Suspilne. Preliminary information indicated no dead or injured. Romaniuk said there had been a risk of ammonia being released into the air, but the plant's management pumped the ammonia into reserve tanks; he asked residents of the nearby settlement to stay indoors with windows closed because of the wind direction. Later on 18 October the State Emergency Service said a private enterprise in Kamin-Kashyrskyi district had caught fire again as a result of an enemy strike; firefighters contained the blaze, work had to be suspended several times because of the threat of further attacks, air tests found no hazardous substances above permissible levels outside the enterprise and no casualties were reported, Ukrinform said. Ukrinform linked the fire to a Russian strike on an industrial enterprise in Manevychi that day, after which the village head urged residents of some areas to leave their homes.
