UKMTO Warning 176-26, posted by @UK_MTO on 17 October 2026, says the master of an LNG tanker reported that at 1030 UTC on 17 October the vessel was approached by a small skiff with seven people on board, 140 nautical miles southeast of Al Mukalla, Yemen. The skiff fired two shots at the tanker, whose armed security team fired two warning shots, forcing the craft to alter course. UKMTO advised vessels to transit with caution and report suspicious activity while authorities investigate. UKMTO did not name the vessel, report injuries or damage, or attribute the incident.
