Satellite images published by the Telegram channel 'Absolutely Reliable Source' and reported by Militarnyi on 9 October 2026 show that four RVSPK-50000 floating-roof tanks, able to hold up to about 170,000 tonnes of oil, burned out at the Samara-2 site of Transneft's Samara linear production and dispatch station after a strike by Ukraine's Defence Forces. Militarnyi dates the attack to 7 October while its photos of the fire are captioned 8 October, and WarTranslated dates the strike to 8 October; the date is therefore given as a 7–8 October range. It was the second strike on the station this month after 2 October.
