The OSINT account Basha Report said on the morning of 5 October 2026 that forces aligned with Yemen's recognised government had launched an encirclement operation around Bab el-Mandeb and recaptured Dhubab airport, cutting the main Houthi logistical line feeding forces around the strait. The account reported that government forces were expected to push towards Al-Omari base, Bab al-Mandab and Dhubab town. The report is the account's own confirmation and has not been independently verified. A separate post from Hussam Almolaiki earlier the same morning said the Southern Giants forces had taken control of Dhubab airport.
