UK Maritime Trade Operations reported that a vessel transiting outbound through the Strait of Hormuz was struck by an unknown projectile, damaging the engine room and causing a crew casualty, with the remaining crew assisted by the Omani Coast Guard. Reuters carried the 18 August 2026 UKMTO incident note. Osint613 relayed the same advisory: a bulk carrier struck by an unknown projectile, starboard-side damage and one crew member wounded, no environmental impact.
