Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held talks in Tehran on the Strait of Hormuz shipping corridor and a joint mine-clearing project, meeting Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and separately President Masoud Pezeshkian, parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and security chief Mohsen Rezaei.

Sheikh Mohammed said "Qatar believes that dialogue and diplomatic solutions remain the optimal path for addressing disputes and overcoming crises". Doha brokered the June memorandum that briefly paused hostilities and was acting again as a back channel after the Trump administration opened its secondary-sanctions campaign. Qatar is not a seeded actor in this theatre, so the mediation is recorded in the copy and not as a participant role.
