Russian strike drones attacked the residential sector and civilian infrastructure of Izium, Kharkiv Oblast, overnight into 20 October 2026, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said, adding that five people were affected. The Izium city military administration said the attack lasted from 00:22 to 04:00 and hit several districts of the city, damaging and partly destroying private houses, outbuildings and a car, and destroying and setting on fire the building of the city council's education department; the emergency service reported four fires. Kharkiv Oblast governor Oleh Syniehubov said the five people in Izium suffered acute stress reactions. No Russian Defence Ministry statement on the incident was read.
