Khmelnytskyi: Russian strike on homes kills two women and injures three, regional officials say

A Russian attack on Khmelnytskyi on 19 October 2026 set two residential buildings on fire, regional governor Serhii Tiurin said, according to Ukrinform. Rescuers searching a private house later found the bodies of two women, born in 1926 and 1954. Three people were injured: a man with burns and a woman with leg fractures and burns were hospitalised and another person was treated at the scene, Suspilne and Ukrinform reported. Ukrinform said Russian drone attacks in the city the same day also damaged an enterprise and an energy facility; the weapon that hit the house was not specified. The State Emergency Service said the attack killed two people and injured two, damaged two enterprises, one of which caught fire, and set private houses ablaze; its injury count differs from the regional figure of three and the figures are not combined. No Russian Defence Ministry statement on the incident was read.
