Houthis say Saudi Arabia flew 121 air strikes across five Yemeni provinces

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said Saudi Arabia had carried out 121 air strikes across Marib, Al-Bayda, Hodeidah, Taiz and Al-Jawf, and warned that the group would answer with “even stronger and wider strikes”. Riyadh has not published a count of its own. The Houthis presented the barrage they fired into southern Saudi Arabia the same day as the reply to this campaign.
Middle East Eye carried Saree’s figure on Tuesday; Al Jazeera reported the Houthi military framing the Saudi campaign as more than 100 strikes over the preceding three days, with many killed. The five provinces span the Red Sea coast, the Taiz front, the Marib approaches and the northern Al-Jawf axis where government forces have been pushing toward Al-Hazm. Saudi Arabia has not commented on the number, named a target set or published its own damage assessment; the accusation over Al-Hazm’s central prison on 7 September belongs to the same campaign. No independent tally of sorties or of casualties from these strikes exists.
Why it matters
A three-figure count across five provinces in a handful of days is the shape of a full air campaign rather than of reprisal raids — and it is the reason the Houthis gave for putting missiles into four Saudi cities.
