Several Russian ballistic missiles struck the Zaporizhstal steel plant in Zaporizhzhia during the day-long aerial attack of 27 August, weeks after a previous strike on the same targets. At least seven people were injured in Zaporizhzhia and its surrounding districts, three of them children.
Ukraine’s Air Force said it shot down seven Iskander-M or North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles, one Onyx anti-ship missile, three Banderol cruise missiles and 222 drones over the course of the attack, which also hit Kyiv and Odesa. Al Jazeera reported six injured at the Zaporizhzhia steelworks; the Kyiv Independent reported at least seven injured across the city and its districts. The mechanism is declared as missile because the sources name ballistic missiles on this target; the wider wave also carried drones, which are recorded in the separate packages for the other cities.
