The account @TracTerrorism reported on 7 October 2026 that Jama'a Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin, JNIM, targeted a Nigerien army convoy with an improvised explosive device between Makalondi, in Torodi department, and Niakatire, in the Tillaberi region of Niger. Another account had reported the same claim earlier on 7 October, outside the interval this report covers, saying JNIM claimed an IED strike on a Nigerien army convoy between Niakatire and Mankolondi in the Tillaberi region, Torodi department, and dating the claim to 6 October 2026. Neither post gives casualties, units involved or any Nigerien army statement, and the research page linked from the first post was not read in full, so this report records the claim, its reported location and the day the earlier account attributes to it.
