On the evening of 12 October 2026, Russian forces struck Kharkiv's Kholodnohirskyi district in waves of Banderol-type strikes, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, governor Oleh Syniehubov and Suspilne. A strike on a four-storey residential building destroyed an entire entrance and caused a fire. By the morning of 13 October four bodies had been recovered from the rubble (Syniehubov; SESU). Syniehubov said 10 people were injured in this strike, five of them hospitalised, two in serious condition, and a SESU rescuer was seriously hurt when structures collapsed. Separately, SESU and President Zelensky gave 41 injured across Kharkiv for the whole evening of attacks, a city-wide figure not specific to this district. Rescue work continued through the morning.
