SahelAlerte says ISWAP’s weekly An-Naba claimed that an explosive attack on a Nigerien army patrol returning from a base near Diffa on 18 October killed seven soldiers and destroyed a military vehicle. Sahel Info 24 later reported that ISGS claimed a similar IED attack in Diffa on 11 October, also saying seven soldiers were killed and a vehicle destroyed. The reported dates and group attributions differ; without the original ISGS communiqué or independent confirmation, it is not established whether these are two attacks or conflicting accounts of one incident.
Verification: Disputed
Evidence: Sahel Alerte relays An-Naba’s claim of an attack near Diffa, Sahel Info 24 relays an ISGS claim of an IED attack near Diffa
Both accounts are secondary relays of militant claims and neither has independent confirmation here. They report the same seven-death/vehicle-destruction pattern near Diffa but give different dates and group attributions; no original ISGS communiqué was recovered, so identity versus separate incidents remains unresolved.
