The United Arab Emirates accused Iran of striking an Abu Dhabi National Oil Company tanker with a missile in the Strait of Hormuz in the early hours of 8 August; ADNOC confirmed one of its ships had been targeted and said there were no injuries.

Al Jazeera, carrying Reuters and AP, reported the UAE Foreign Ministry’s 8 August 2026 accusation that the IRGC hit an ADNOC-affiliated tanker transiting Hormuz. ADNOC, via WAM, confirmed a missile targeting with no injuries and the situation under control; it did not publish the ship’s name or exact position. The UAE is not a seeded theatre actor—participants are limited to Iran (attributed initiator) and the United States (affected campaign party). A later 13 August two-vessel package is recorded separately.
