President Zelenskyy dismissed Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskii and appointed Maj. Gen. Mykhailo Drapatyi after days of protests over the earlier removal of Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
Multiple outlets reported the 21 July command change following street protests in Kyiv and other cities. Drapatyi, previously joint forces commander, later said Ukraine would intensify offensive operations in all domains. This is a political-military leadership event, not a battlefield gain.
