The Israel Defense Forces posted at 07:51 UTC on 6 October 2026 that its troops uncovered and dismantled a 1.5 kilometer long underground terror tunnel route in the northern Gaza Strip. The post says the work was done by the Northern Brigade of the 99th Division together with Southern Command engineering forces, and that troops remain deployed in the area under the ceasefire outline to remove immediate threats. An Israeli open-source account reported the same destruction shortly before at 07:36 UTC. The post gives no date for when the tunnel was built and no casualty figures.
