The Lebanese military said Israeli shelling and clearance operations were preventing troops from fully assuming security control in southern pilot-zone villages agreed under the US-mediated framework with Israel.

Al Jazeera reported a 26 July 2026 Lebanese army statement accusing Israel of obstructing the pilot-phase handover that began around 20–21 July in Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh, Froun and Srifa. Israel has continued demolitions and fire inside the Yellow Line area according to concurrent open reporting. This package is the LAF obstruction claim, not a new Israeli village-destruction tally.
