On the afternoon of 29 Sep 2026 (~16:00 Europe/Kyiv), Russian forces struck central Sumy with four guided aerial bombs (KABs/glide bombs). President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Sumy OVA head Oleh Hryhorov said a school building was hit while classes were in session; children and teachers were in the shelter and about 100 people were evacuated in time (Zelenskyy X 2104938635120250895 ~14:17Z; Ukrinform EN citing both). Two civilians were killed in the private residential area (in their homes, not at the school).
