Later on 6 September 2026, Israeli artillery struck a classroom sheltering displaced Palestinians at a school in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, killing a 7-year-old child, medical sources told Anadolu Agency; Reuters reprints the same day said an Israeli tank strike on a school housing displaced families killed a seven-year-old girl. Palestinian outlets IMEMC and Sada News named the child Saadi Ghaliya (also rendered Saadi Ghalia) and identified Sukaina/Sakina School on Salah al-Din Street in the eastern school complex of Deir al-Balah. This create lifts a prior soft-hold once AA/Reuters wire confirmed place-type and age and local media supplied the name.
