Ukraine's General Staff said in its morning update published at 05:05 UTC on 7 October 2026 that 202 combat engagements were recorded over the previous day, 6 October. The same post says Russia launched 85 airstrikes dropping 278 guided aerial bombs, deployed 9,728 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,521 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian troop positions. It reports that in Sumy region the enemy shelled Ulanove, Pysarivka, Khrapivshchyna, Seredyna-Buda, Korchakivka, Hirky and Volfyne, with an airstrike around Khrapivshchyna, and that Ukrainian aviation, missile forces and artillery struck one area of enemy personnel concentration and one enemy UAV command post. By axis it records three attacks near Bachivsk, Rivne and Volfyne on the North Slobozhanskyi front, 11 repelled on the South Slobozhanskyi front, one near Kivsharivka on the Kupiansk front, eight near Novomykhailivka, Nadiia, Stavky, Novoselivka and Lyman on the Lyman front, two near Minkivka on the Kramatorsk front, 14 on the Kostiantynivka front, 27 on the Pokrovsk front, 13 on the Huliaipole front and two on the Orikhiv front, and no active Russian operations on the Sloviansk, Oleksandrivka and Prydniprovske fronts. It also states that Russian losses over the past day amounted to 1,690 personnel, with four armoured combat vehicles, 51 artillery systems, eight multiple rocket launchers, two air defence systems, 12 unmanned ground robotic systems, 1,890 unmanned aerial vehicles, two heavy flamethrower systems, 577 vehicles and five pieces of special equipment destroyed or disabled. The figures are the Ukrainian command's own accounting for 6 October and are not independently counted. This is the report for 6 October and counts 202 engagements and 9,728 drones, which differ from the 184 engagements and 9,811 drones of the report for 5 October.

Both documents are the same origin, so they are not independent corroboration. The numbers are the Ukrainian command's own accounting and are not independently counted. The 1,690 personnel losses are the daily figure stated by the General Staff; the cumulative figure of about 1,545,950 personnel since 24 February 2022 appears in the Ukrinform report and is not used here.
