CENTCOM said IRGC forces launched multiple ballistic missiles at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in an “attempted surprise attack” on 28 July, ending a multi-day pause; open-source accounts placed the launches in the Khomein / Markazi area and reported interceptor activity over eastern Jordan.

Axios and CENTCOM framed the 28 July package as the first Iranian ballistic attack on the US presence in Jordan since the late-July strike pause. X-based OSINT (including BeamTracker and later FDD summary posts) reported ballistic launches from Khomein in Markazi Province toward MSAB and contested claims of a direct hit; Jordanian intercept tallies circulated separately. This package is one atomic arc (Khomein → Azraq), not the multi-city launch nights that also named Tabriz or Yazd.

Verification: Confirmed

Evidence: Iran launches missiles toward U.S. base in Jordan, American official says, Ballistic missiles launched from Khomein, Markazi Province; MSAB reported hit claims, Iran ballistic strike on US positions in Jordan; launches reported from Khomein, Markazi

CENTCOM confirmed an attempted ballistic attack on US forces / MSAB. Origin remains estimated OSINT (Khomein / Markazi), not a pad fix. Impact/BDA claims on base infrastructure are not independently settled here.
