President Trump said the United States had held “very good talks” with Iran and could resume strikes to “finish the job” if no deal emerged, while repeating a threat against Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain nuclear-related site.

CBS relayed Trump’s 28 July Fox News remarks during the third day of the US strike pause and on the day of a White House meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump said the Iranian people “have to live” and that he wanted to avoid infrastructure attacks if possible, while keeping military options open. DW’s concurrent live blog tracked the same strike-pause diplomacy and Iranian rejection of direct talks. No new CENTCOM strike night is claimed here.
