Lebanese security forces stopped a vehicle travelling from the Bekaa Valley towards Beirut at a checkpoint in Dahr al-Baidar on the afternoon of Thursday 8 October 2026 and seized about 250 kg of TNT-type explosives and 250 kg of C-4, a judicial source told AFP. Two men were arrested; according to the source one is the son of a Hezbollah official and the other is also a member of the group. Asharq Al-Awsat, citing a senior judicial source, said on 12 October that the explosives were packed with small metal balls and nails, that the detainees named two Hezbollah officials as the sender in the Bekaa and the recipient in Beirut's southern suburbs, and that the military court commissioner widened the investigation. Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said on 12 October that those involved would be referred to the judiciary. Hezbollah's comment was not found in this pass.
