Chernihiv city council and regional police said a Russian UAV hit a private house around 05:00 on 26 August 2026, setting it on fire. A 39-year-old woman, later named as pharmacy worker Olena Bila, and her four-year-old daughter Zhanna were killed; a 14-year-old daughter was hospitalised.
