The Kyiv Independent reported on 10 October 2026 that a large fire broke out overnight on 9–10 October at an oil-loading terminal in Rostov-on-Don amid a reported drone attack, citing Exilenova+ footage. An ASTRA analyst identified the site as the Yug Rusi oil-loading terminal in Rostov-on-Don’s Zheleznodorozhny district, which handles petroleum products for export including shipments from the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery (Yug Rusi group); KI notes the terminal is separate from the refinery’s main processing facilities. Russian regional authorities acknowledged a fire and air-defense activity but did not confirm terminal damage; Ukrainian officials had not claimed responsibility in the KI report. Earlier the same night, OSINT account NotWoofers had posted video describing a Ukrainian drone strike on the ‘Novoshakhtinsk oil terminal.’ Place corrected from the Novoshakhtinsk city pin to Rostov-on-Don per KI/ASTRA.
