Russian forces repeatedly struck communities in northern Zhytomyr Oblast with drones from the evening of 11 October into the night of 12 October 2026, according to Zhytomyr OVA head Vitalii Bunechko. Railway and energy infrastructure facilities in Korosten district were hit and fires broke out; SESU rescuers had to withdraw to safety during the firefighting because of the threat of repeat strikes. Suspilne reported damage to Ukrzaliznytsia facilities, civilian and energy infrastructure and homes in the Korosten and Ovruch communities. As of 09:00 local there was no information on casualties.
