A Russian Shahed-type drone hit a 25-storey residential building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district on the evening of 12 October 2026. The Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) and Mayor Vitali Klitschko first reported the impact at the 12th–16th floors with cars burning in the courtyard; KMVA said a woman was killed and Klitschko's injury count rose from four to eleven. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later said Russia struck the high-rise with a Shahed, that two people had been killed and nine injured, and that firefighters had extinguished the fire. Suspilne cited the Darnytskyi district head as saying two people were killed and eleven injured. Published casualty totals follow Zelenskyy's presidential figures (2 killed, 9 injured); municipal reports of 11 injured are noted but not combined.
