The Iran Watcher reported on 9 September 2026 that Yemeni government forces said they had seized Al-Mathafat, Al-Masariyah Hill and about 20 km of Houthi berms and trenches east of Al-Hazm. The same post said images circulating from the fighting showed Iranian identity documents claimed to have been recovered from dead personnel; that IRGC-killed claim is unconfirmed and Iran is not a member of the red-sea theater.
