Russian forces struck Dnipro during the day on 12 October 2026; Suspilne correspondents heard an explosion at about 10:18 local time (07:18 UTC) after Ukraine's Air Force warned of a 'Banderol' heading towards the city. Oblast governor Oleksandr Hanzha said the blast wave damaged windows of a multi-storey building, and one person was killed; city councillor and businessman Zagid Krasnov said the dead man was an employee of one of his businesses in the city centre. The Dnipro mayor said five apartment blocks and several shops in the centre were damaged, with about fifty windows blown out, including at the nearby Alfred Nobel University. Hanzha also said a separate Russian strike on Dnipro district set one floor of a shopping centre on fire; rescuers extinguished it and preliminarily no one was hurt there. In a later Telegram update at 13:42 UTC Hanzha said three people had been injured by the Russian attacks on Dnipro: two men were in hospital for examination and a 27-year-old woman was treated on scene and is recovering at home. The weapon used in the city strike was not confirmed. Distinct from the morning oblast bulletin (evt_67135ea1) and the 11 October overnight Dnipro injuries (evt_13d6cd30).
