The World Food Programme warned on 14 October that fighting and blocked roads had left 800,000 people beyond its reach in Yemen, including more than 600,000 people dependent on assistance in Taiz. It said wheat flour stocks were nearly exhausted and remaining market supplies could run out if access constraints continued.
Why it matters
The loss of access threatens food supplies for communities already facing severe hunger.
