Russian jet-powered Shahed-type drones struck Kyiv on the morning of 23 September 2026. Strikes hit near the central railway station, setting fire to the Shayba railway market, and a nine-story residential building in the Solomianskyi district. A strike in that district was also reported at a university building. The mayor said two people were killed and 25 injured as of 13:37 local time, with 17 of the injured in city hospitals.
