Iranian and Omani officials met in Tehran on 24–25 July on managing Strait of Hormuz shipping; Iranian sources said talks made progress while Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said the strait’s closed status was unchanged.

ISW and CBS reported Iran–Oman discussions on a possible Hormuz arrangement coinciding with the US air-strike pause. Baghaei said on 26 July that traffic conditions in the strait had not changed after the talks and later told DW Iran was not holding direct talks with Washington, only messages via mediators. Oman is not a seeded theatre actor; participants are limited to Iran and the United States as the principal parties to the Hormuz dispute.
