Kashish Parpiani reported that Israeli aircraft conducted a large “power projection” sortie near Iran’s border. The post said US officials believed Israel knew Iranian air defenses would detect the flight, that Israel notified Washington in advance and described it as a training exercise intended to deter Iran, and that some US sources thought Israel may have hoped Iran would fire at the aircraft.
