On the evening of 2 October 2026, Russian attack drones struck a residential high-rise in Dnipro's Shevchenkivskyi district, starting apartment fires along with burning cars and a garage. Ukraine's State Emergency Service said three people were injured and six residents were rescued from smoke-filled apartments, and that all fire seats were extinguished. Dnipropetrovsk regional administration head Oleksandr Hanzha later raised the injured toll to four women, who were treated by medics and declined hospitalization. Ukrinform and UNN corroborate the apartment-building drone strike and the four-injured update. This is a separate incident from the 28 September strike on a downtown business center.
