Russia's Defence Ministry said on 20 October 2026 that units of its Vostok Group of Forces had 'liberated' the village of Timoshevka (Tymoshivka) in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, continuing to advance into the depth of Ukrainian defences. The ministry did not say which of the oblast's two villages of that name it meant; the placement assumes Tymoshivka in Polohy district, near Omelnyk, which the ministry claimed on 19 October, since the other village, in Vasylivka district, has been behind the Russian lines since 2022. This records a claimed capture, not confirmed current control; no Ukrainian statement on the village was read.

Russian Defence Ministry claim only; no Ukrainian or independent confirmation read. The village's identity among two of the same name is inferred from the front line, so the position is an estimate.
