Abu Dhabi National Oil Company said two of its vessels were attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on the evening of 13 August; the UAE government blamed Iran, which made no immediate comment, and Kpler data the next day showed Hormuz traffic near a standstill.
Reuters reported ADNOC’s 13–14 August 2026 account of two vessels attacked on Thursday evening and the UAE government’s attribution to Iran. Associated Press the next day said the UAE blamed Iran for firing drones at the tankers; UKMTO, relayed by Al Arabiya and Osint613, said a tanker on an outbound Hormuz transit was struck by an uncrewed aerial vehicle and took minor damage, with crew safe. Distinct from the 8 August single-tanker missile package. Ship names were not used in the Reuters account reviewed here and are not asserted. UAE is not a seeded theatre actor. Exact launch origin was not reported.
