On 2 October 2026 WAFA reported three Palestinians — including an elderly woman and a child — were injured early Friday when Israeli forces opened heavy fire in Khan Younis. Local sources said an elderly woman was injured on Street 5 and a young man in Hamad City; girl Sahar Al-Shawaf was wounded by gunfire targeting tents east of Hamad City north of Khan Younis. Anadolu separately reported three injured including a girl and an elderly woman, by gunfire targeting Street 5 in Al-Mawasi and the vicinity of Hamad City northwest of Khan Younis. No fatalities were reported in this gunfire incident.
